Lots of changes next season for the Lakers…Shaq has been traded to the Miami Heat, D-Fish signed with Golden State, Karl Malone is questionable, and Phil Jackson is out the door….but at least Kobe is staying!!! I have mixed emotions about players leaving and new players coming in, but I’m sure it will all seem normal within 5-6 months. Now if the Lakers can just get a top-notch center…
Really, I’m just grateful that the Kob’s staying. Don’t know how I would have dealt with him leaving! My office would look barren without all my Kobe pics…
While Shaq was funny off-court, I think he was out of shape this season and not playing as well as in the past. He’ll be a draw for Miami and should be extremely dominant in the East where there aren’t as many big centers. I don’t think Kobe and Shaq would have lasted another season together, so that’s probably a good thing.
I hated to see Fisher leave, though. I’m sure he got more money at GS, but he was always one of my favorite players. I think he might have stayed if the Lakers hadn’t given the starting to position last year to Devean George, who really didn’t play that well for most of the season.
Haven’t heard about any other trades or signings, but really hope that somehow they figure a way to get rid of Slava!

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a TrackbackOh man, I’m going to miss Fish 🙁 And you’re right, this Slava thing has gone on long enough… everyone hates him, let’s just kick him to the curb already!
OMG….Laatest news is that Vlade Divac is leaving the Sacto Kings for LA–either the Lakers or the Clippers! My bet is that he comes to the Lakers since he will get more $$$ that way, plus he’ll have a better shot at making it to the playoffs. That would certainly solve our problem of replacing Shaq!!!
i hear that Vlade Divac is now a Laker… he even still has a house in LA.
in anycase, lets hope the new Lakers can work together more than last years team.
Heathens! Slava rocks!
