The window contractor showed up this afternoon and started installing my new windows! Because of his recently broken leg and resulting surgery, he’s not able to do much himself, but his son and another worker are able to do lots of the heavy lifting and he mostly supervises. So far they’ve put in all the windows facing the front porch (2 in the living room, and 1 in the kitchen). They still have to do a lot of the inside finishing work, installing new wood trim around everything. I’m just happy to have windows that can be opened to the outside without having every bug in the neighborhood coming in for a visit! They’ll be back next Tuesday to do the remaining 5 smaller windows. Beyond that, I will probably have to wait until sometime in late September for the large windows in the family room and the sliding doors, as well as the bay window in my bedroom. I can handle that.

It’s supposed to cool down this evening…I can’t wait to have the windows open!
