About a half hour into the Presidential Debate and Dubya seems to be floundering. Kerry is very well spoken and Bush seems to be doing a lot of ums and not making any definitive statements. Bush’s responses are to say that everybody is doing a lot of good work while Kerry is giving facts.
Some of you may not agree with my comments, but that’s how I feel…and that’s what this country is all about. And that’s why it’s so important to vote in November.
Dubya seems to be convinced that the war in Iraq is hard work ’cause he continues to say this over and over again as a response to most everything Kerry says. He’s now fumbling through his notes trying to find something to say in response to Kerry’s charge that Bush has not been candid with the American people. Bush seems to be totally on the defensive while Kerry comes forward with facts.
Bush just said we had to attack in Iraq because we had no choice–when we are attacked we have to respond. Iraq never attacked us! Kerry caught it and responded appropriately. It wasn’t Iraq who attacked us, it was Osama Bin Laden…and we went after Sadam, not Osama.
I hope enough people in this country see what I’m seeing and are drawing the same conclusions. Please think long and hard before you cast your vote

So far, so good. But we really need to see how the next two presidential debates go. Most of those interviewed say that domestic issues are the most important to them. I think Kerry will do well but I also expect Dubya will be far better prepared than he was last night.
Looks like the debate changed someone’s mind–the latest Newsweek poll has both candidates in a dead heat! This may be a long election night…
