The Lakers lost the first preseason game of the year. It was a really strange game…I couldn’t recognize most of the players and it was hard to think of them as the Lakers. Kobe was great–35 points–but no one else played that well. I expected more from Lamar Odom, but maybe as the season goes on he’ll become more comfortable as a Laker. Many of the “old” team was out with various injuries (or recovering from off-season surgeries) and Vlade Divac has a back injury but expects to be ready to play by the first game of the season in November. My first impression is that this season just won’t be the same as the past four years…
