Yes, amazingly enough, it’s raining! And that’s wonderful! Part of my glee is the result of not having seen rain for probably 6 months so it feels extremely refreshing to see everything outdoors covered with sparkling droplets of water. The best part, though, is that NONE of that water is inside my house! This is the first time in 18 years that I can remember not having to move something in the family room to accommodate the rain either leaking from the roof or seeping in around the windows at the back of the room.

I always looked forward to the rainy season with a sense of dread, knowing I would have to live with this wetness permeating my life for months on end. The “El Nino” year was the worst with furniture moved from one entire side of the room, and buckets/Tupperware containers covering the floor of the other side! Now all that is just a fond (?) memory as the new roof from 2 years ago has sealed off the drips and the brand new windows have eliminated the seepage! It was worth every penny spent to once again enjoy the inside of my nice DRY house!
