Easter Sunday turned out very nice. Got a Honeybaked Ham and cooked all the usual goodies–green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, coleslaw, fruit salad, deviled eggs and rolls–with blueberry pie for dessert. Wound up with Patrick and 6 of his friends here to share dinner with us which was very nice and homey feeling.
The night before we had “Blazing Saddles” night. Watched the movie and ate baked beans and grilled hot dogs. Lots of fun seeing the reactions of those who had not seen the movie previously.
And then Monday I was off work for “Easter Monday.” Hoped to get outdoor yard work finished up, but the skies decided to cloud over and drop some rain. Saturday and Sunday were great days with the sun shining and temps in the low 70’s. Guess I should have worked in the yard then…but, I’ve gotten hooked on March Madness–the NCAA basketball tournament! Better than watching the Lakers massacre themselves day after day.
The weather is really getting better. Tomorrow the temps are supposed to head in the direction of 80 and it’s supposed to be nice all weekend. Hallelujah! It’s about time! I’m off work on Friday (Cesar Chavez Day) so hope to *finally* get started on cleaning out the garage. Hopefully being off 3 days will mean I’m able to get it finished. And, with this weekend being the start of daylight savings time, I will have time at night to do bits and pieces of yard work.
The only bad thing going on right now is finishing up taxes, both for myself and all the other folks I’ve agreed to help. My return is the only one that is really all that time-consuming, but at least I’ve got everything sorted. Now just gotta get all the numbers in the right places. I’m ready for April 15th to be over and done with!
