I have tickets! Antiques Roadshow will be in LA on 8/13 and I’ve received 2 tickets to attend. I applied online back in January and then forgot all about it, what with the wedding and all. Today I received an email from them telling me I would receive 2 tickets that would be mailed out in July. I can take 2 items to be appraised. One will be an old clock from the 1800’s and I don’t yet know what the other will be. Gotta think about it…

I am so excited to be doing this. We tried to attend about 5 years ago, waited in traffic, then waited in line, only to be turned away before we reached the door. That was before they started doing tickets. I guess the crowds in LA were so huge that they had to change their method of admission. I know I was totally pissed after getting up early and spending half a day in downtown LA only to be turned away at the door. Hopefully, this will be a much more pleasant experience. At least I am guaranteed of getting in this time!

Meanwhile, back at home the night-blooming jasmine are once again filling the backyard (and parts of the house) with their *wonderful* scent! This is one of my favorite times of the year…it doesn’t get dark until after 8 pm, and when darkness does come, the glorious scent of jasmine fills the air!

Haven’t heard from Kevin and Chrysoula since they arrived in Rome. I’m guessing they are overwhelmed with all that is surrounding them and hope they are spending all their time visiting all that Rome has to offer with no time left over for emailing. Can’t wait to hear about the trip in detail when they return…

All this seems to be leading to an exciting and wonderful summer. I’m so happy summer is finally here!
