As I sat at my desk on the second floor of the office building at All Saints, the building began to move. I remembered the feeling and headed out. Earthquake. It started out with just a slight shaking and then the building really began to move. I wasn’t waiting for anyone to make a decision on what to do. I headed out the door. This was Amanda’s first earthquake, so it was interesting to see her reaction. (Amanda just started working at All Saints about 6 weeks ago.) Fortunately, the shaking has stopped (for now) and we had no damage at work or at the house. Wasn’t that strong (4.9), but still enough to shake us all up.
Patrick got his new TiVo today. It’s a reconditioned machine that TiVo offered me at no charge. I had to sign up for a lifetime membership on my TiVo and the monthly cost for the new one is only $6.95/month. Not a bad deal. Data is being downloaded right now and it should be working this evening. Patrick is a happy camper.
Good that he has something to do while hanging out in his room, since Patrick can’t do too much physically right now. He broke his little toe a couple of days ago while barefoot in his office. Stumbled over the stand for his keyboard that was laying on the floor. His toe is pretty ugly and painful, but there’s not much you can do except wait for it to heal. Going barefoot is risky business.
