And so I begin my second week of vacation this year! First week was for Kevin & Soula’s wedding in Vegas in May. Lots of fun, but not really all that restful. This week will be spent entirely at home, catching up on fix-up projects. Will be starting tomorrow on finishing up painting the family room.

Also will be working out back cleaning up various piles of trash as well as planting a few flowerbeds. The asshole neighbor behind me cut back his bushes, so I guess I’ll be trimming the tops that hang over my fence sometime this week. Gotta do it early in the morning before the sun gets overhead.

Have lots of general cleaning to do, too, with the hope that I have most of it finished by next Saturday. A bunch of Patrick’s friends will be here on Saturday for a pool party, so I want to have most everything done by then. Will still have Sunday to clean up any mess from the party and can go back to work with lots completed…as well as a clean house!

I want to redo my bedroom, but will probably save that for my next week off in August. Don’t want to get started on something new while I still have other projects that are still unfinished.

Patrick and lots of his friends are off to Vegas (again!) to party for the long weekend. Hopefully this will be far less costly than the last time he was there in May for the wedding! The temps there will be 103-107 degrees all weekend–but it’s *dry* heat! No thanks!!! It’s supposed to be in the mid-80’s here all week…more to my likeing. I’m actually amazed that the temps won’t be any higher than that. Usually it’s unbearably hot every time I’ve taken time off to work on home projects. Let’s hope the predictions are right!

I’m very excited to get started on the painting–one of my favorite things to do! One of these days I’ll have all this finished. Don’t know what I’ll do with my time off when that happens. Maybe I’ll actually *vacation*!!! No, can’t imagine such a thing!
