All you need is a bar of soap and shampoo, and you could bathe in our pool–it’s that warm! If this hot weather continues, the pool will easily be over 90 degrees by August. It’s already 86 degrees in the pool right now–warmer than the outside air! It feels great when you get out…the first time that I’ve really felt cool outside in a long time!

Patrick and a bunch of his friends went swimming tonight to get some heat relief. Most of them don’t have AC at their homes, so the pool is a very welcome relief. We’re getting more use out of this pool this year than any year since the boys were young. It helps that we have a new pool guy who does an excellent job keeping the chlorine levels up and the pool clean. And he’s charges less than anyone we’ve ever had!

Think maybe I’ll take “pool breaks” tomorrow in between cleaning spurts. It’s the only way I can imagine to keep my body temp at a reasonable level since the outdoor temps are supposed to be up near 100 tomorrow. Either that or stay in my bedroom and say the hell with the rest of the house!
