My sister, Jean, has finally received the word that her life is ending. While we’ve all known for some time that her cancer would eventually cause her demise, it’s still hard to believe. It may happen at any time…within days or weeks. Sisters aren’t supposed to die until all of us are old–which we certainly are not!

I just pray that she goes quickly, ending all the dreadful suffering she’s had to undergo. She signed the DNR and says she is ready. I don’t know that any of us really are, though, especially her husband and sons. Prayers will be gratefully accepted…
