What happened, you ask? Well, 10 years ago today I walked through the doors of All Saints Church to take a temporary job helping out with Accounts Payable. I knew very little about the Church and certainly didn’t know much about non-profit accounting. My jobs in the past had all been with for profit companies. How different could it be I thought. And so I went into it doing things the same way I would have done for any business. Maybe that’s why I succeeded.

I’ve never worked anywhere for 10 years. And I still can’t believe I’ve been at All Saints for this long. I was hired on permanently after a little over a year. Why they kept me on as a “temp” for that long is beyond me! I’m not sure how long that arrangement would have lasted had I not suggested they hire me as an employee.

This job really must be the right one for me though since it doesn’t seem like 10 years. When I look back, I do remember lots that’s happened, but somehow 10 years doesn’t seem very long. But, it kinda seems like I’ve always been there, so it must be a long time.

I wonder what it will be like after another 10 years…
