Seems that ReNu contact lens solution with something called MoistureLoc has been linked to a dreadful eye fungus. Of course this is the solution I’ve been using. My eyes haven’t been feeling great lately, but I just assumed this was something that happens as one ages. I quit using the ReNu immediately and switched to Opti-Free as recommended in numerous news stories. I need to see my eye doctor soon for a new Rx for my contacts, so will have him check to be sure I haven’t been infected.
Picked up my new glasses last week, so I can now at least remove the contacts and still be able to see….sort of. The glasses are fine for most things, but are very difficult to use while working on the computer. I just can’t find the right spot to look through and find myself tipping my head or moving the glasses in order to see clearly. Once I’m finished with the various tax returns maybe I can restrict my computer use in the evenings until I become more accustomed to the new specs.

Follow-up comment rss or Leave a Trackbacki switched today too… my doc told me to be sure to also change my lens case. I guess the nasty stuff can linger…
Didn’t change the case, but cleaned it thoroughly before using it.
We’ll get you these to replace those bifocals someday 🙂 http://www.gizmodo.com/gadgets/gadgets/liquidcrystal-switchable-focus-eyeglass-lenses-167757.php
