Even tho we’re supposed to get a bit of rain on Sunday, it’s finally beginning to feel like summer is almost here. It stays light outside until about 8 pm, so I’m able to work in the yard after work which is great. Only have a few more plants to put in, just haven’t decided where to put them. But mostly everything is just about finished. And the night-blooming jasmine is just about ready to bloom!
I’m putting up lattice panels on my wooden side fence tomorrow. The electric wiring for the pool equipment runs along the lower part of the fence, so the lattice will cover that and make a nice backdrop for the new flowerbed. After that, only need to put a few concrete tops on part of the flowerbed wall at the other end of the yard. Oh, there will be a few odds and ends to do, but mostly the yard is finished.
Hope to begin cleaning the garage (once again!) over Memorial Day weekend. Only this time I’m going to get rid of as much stuff as possible. Whether I toss it or donate it, it’s got to go. I just have too damn much stuff. Of course lots belongs to Kevin and Patrick, but a bunch of it is mine. And then I can start painting my bedroom…and then the other bedrooms.
Probably not going on vacation this year…too many trips last year and too expensive this year. Tried to get airline tickets to Seattle, but all the cheap fares on Southwest were taken and I’m not going to pay $400-$500. So will just hang out in Pasadena this year. Not all that bad in that I’ll save money and maybe have time to get Patrick’s old rooms turned into my rooms.
Forgot to mention all the fun I had last weekend! Started Friday night when Kevin and I stayed up until 3 am looking at old family pictures. It was great fun, but I couldn’t handle those late hours too often. Then on Saturday Kevin took Patrick and me to dinner at the New Delhi Palace for great Indian food. Spent Saturday night visiting with Kevin, Patrick and Veronica until I couldn’t stay awake any longer. After taking Kevin to the airport on Sunday morning, Patrick and Veronica took me to lunch at Robin’s Restaurant. And before we left, Patrick gave me a rose flower arrangement and Veronica gave me a beautiful necklace and gorgeous earrings. All in all, it was a great Mother’s Day weekend!
Well, off to bed so I can get an early start in the morning!
