I can’t believe that we were in Las Vegas a year ago today celebrating the wedding of Kevin and Chrysoula. Doesn’t seem possible it’s already been a year. Kind of wish it was last year again and it was happening right now. So much has happened since this day last year. Happy 1st Anniversary to my son and his wife as they continue a wonderful life together.
Just made reservations for a mid-August visit to Seattle to spend some time with Kevin and Soula. Unfortunately, I have to fly out of LAX….Yuk! It wasn’t all that much more expensive to fly out of Burbank, but all the flights were like an hour longer due to multiple stops along the way. Still will take about 3-1/2 hours each way with only one stop. Will only be staying for about 4-1/2 days, but that will be long enough for a nice visit and not so long that I will begin to get in the way. And I’ll still have a few days of vacation at home to rest up before heading back to work.
Going to be taking 2 other weeks off in July and early August where I’ll just be hanging out here doing miscellaneous fixup stuff. Have all the materials to redo my bedroom, so hope to get that finished up this summer. With no one but me (and the animals) here this summer, I should be able to get lots done.
This coming weekend will be my start as I begin the great garage cleanout! Just gotta get going on that so that I can actually find tools and materials without digging through crates and boxes.
The backyard is very close to being done. Finally! Would have finished up this past weekend had I not come down with either stomach flu or food poisoning. I worked in the yard a good part of the day on Saturday and then had severe stomach pains hit around 7-8 pm Saturday night after eating Chinese food from Panda Express. Was sick all day Sunday and most of the day Monday. Can’t be sure it was the Chinese food, but am eating very lite and bland foods for a while…and not planning a return to Panda Express anytime soon.
