…and I didn’t get nearly as much accomplished as I had hoped. Woke up early only to realize I picked up some kind of an intestinal bug resulting in lots of time spent laying around and sitting in the bathroom. Not what I expected to be doing today. Feel much better tonight so am hopeful it was just a 24-hour bug.

Spent a bit of time packing up all the knick-knacks from the bedroom, and moved lots of books to Patrick’s old bedroom. My room is beginning to look quite bare. Tomorrow should be a bit cooler, so painting should begin.

Wound up having a cookout yesterday afternoon with Patrick, Veronica and two other friends and their baby. Had a nice day with traditional 4th of July food–barbequed ribs, bratwurst, baked beans, potato salad and watermelon and apple pie for dessert.

Got a shade covering for Patrick to use at Burning Man. He put it up in the backyard, and I’ve decided to keep it and get him another one. It fits right outside the sliding glass doors between the house and the pool which also keeps the blazing sun off the back windows during the day. And for $20, it is well worth the price.
