Kevin and Soula are buying a house! They’ve made an offer on a 2000 sq.ft. split level house in Renton, WA. It has a living room with a fireplace, a formal dining room, a large kitchen with a breakfast nook, a great room, 4 bedrooms, 2-3/4 baths and a 2 car garage. It has a large yard (but not too large) and is on a cul-de-sac that backs up to an area called a green belt where the utilities run–almost like a park behind the house. They expect to hear from their realtor tomorrow, and she has told them she thinks their offer will be accepted. If all goes well and the inspection doesn’t reveal any major problems, they should have the house by the latter part of August.
My trip up there in August (8/11-16) probably will be too early for them to have taken possession of the house by then. Hopefully the realtor can take us to see the house while I’m there. I can’t wait to see it! Somehow I have a feeling I’ll be put to work helping them clean and pack…
Found out tonight that they are getting another dog in about 4 weeks. He’s a puppy of the same breed as their other dog, Hannah. They’ll probably be picking him up right about the time I get there, so it should be fun…or maybe not.
Meanwhile, back in Pasadena, the heat continues. We haven’t had a break since the latter part of June. And the humidity some days makes it almost unbearable. Work is very pleasant with the central air blowing full blast. I’m having trouble getting anything done at home, though.
Spent about an hour in the backyard tonight pulling weeds and came in totally drenched with sweat…and I was working in the shade! I’ve been putting off doing much other than watering outside, but really needed to get this final bit of weeding finished. Need to clean up everything tomorrow night as I ran out of daylight before I could finish up tonight.
Got all the painting of the base coat onto the walls in my bedroom. Will begin the faux finishing on Saturday. I also need to get up early on Saturday to finish putting the primer on the ceiling. If I don’t get it finished early in the morning, it gets too hot and the paint bubbles. Not excited to be up early on the weekend, but really want this finished. And possibly I can get up early on Sunday and get the finish coat on the ceiling as well. Or maybe the temps will cool down…
The pool is wonderful right now, though. About the only good thing to result from all this heat.
