Kevin and Soula will be doing the big move into the new house next weekend with the truck rental for the furniture and all that. I got an email from Southwest Airlines this morning showing all their specials for the month of September. After talking with Kevin, I decided to go up and help them if I could get a deal on airfare. Got a roundtrip ticket for $200….yay! Am leaving Friday night, 9/8, and will return the following Tuesday, 9/12. That gives me 3 full days to help them out.

I have a couple of ‘floating holidays’ I can take, so won’t be a problem getting the time off from work. And, I busted my butt today getting tons of work done so that I’m not way behind for the next few weeks. Patrick will be back by then, so I just need to get him to take Murphy while I’m away. He’ll stop in to check on the cats and refill their food and water, but they should be fine. Hopefully this time I won’t pick up any airport bugs. To be on the safe side, though, I’m going to get some Airborne and start taking it a few days before I leave.

This is probably nuts to be heading back up there less than a month after I returned, but I know how much work they have in store and I can’t handle not doing anything to help. I guess I have a bit of guilt, too, for not getting more done for them while I was there the last time. Not really guilt, but I really thought I could have done more. So now I will….and I’m actually looking forward to it!

Gotta get busy around here this long weekend and finish up bunches of stuff–my bedroom, cleaning the front porch, weeding the backyard, trimming the backyard bushes and trying to get rid of a bunch of trash! I’ve got a wedding to go to the weekend after I get back plus an all day event at All Saints the following day, so September will be over before I know it and I don’t want to be heading into Fall having so much unfinished stuff.
