Watched the webcast of The Man burning. Once again I thought it went too fast. He stood for about 15 min after the fire began and then fell over. I liked it better in the past when there were no fireworks. Also, in 2004 the webcast was really clear and you could see all the firedancers really clearly. This year you could see the fire but not the dancers…and the sound was terrible. Hope it was better for all the burners on the playa.

Spent a big chunk of the day cleaning the front porch. Moved everything, swept and then hosed down everything. It really looks good now–nice and clean and bright. Decided to go ahead and put out all my fall decorations even though it hardly feels like fall with temps in the high 90’s-low 100’s! I really like the fall flowers and the few other things I have and decided to get more than a month’s worth of enjoyment from them. Don’t worry though, I didn’t put out any Halloween stuff yet!

On Monday Patrick will be back from Burning Man. He’ll be here long enough to unload his shit back into the garage and then will be off to Veronica. Nice to have just his stuff being unloaded rather than everyone’s stuff piled in my driveway for days. Had hoped to do some cleaning in the garage while he was away, but temps in the 90’s precluded that from happening. Oh well, maybe it will cool off enough by October so that I can get started on that.

Will be trying this weekend to get as much packed as possible for the trip to Seattle on Friday. The weather forecast is for highs in the high 60’s-low 70’s, so I should be able to pack clothes that I’m sure I won’t be needing here!

Time for bed. Got up early this morning and am pooped.
