One of my best friends was let go from her job today. Restructuring. The reason that is always given for getting rid of someone without just saying “You’re fired.” She was by far the most dedicated employee I have ever encountered. She probably put in at least 60 hours per week and almost had to be forced to take time off. Even when she was off work, she responded to calls on her cellphone, being the problem solver extraordinaire.

I expect this organization will encounter numerous troubles without her and will regret letting her go. They will find themselves in deep shit. She, on the other hand, will ultimately be far better off. She has lots of contacts in the community and whoever hires her will get an unbelievably good deal. She is the best and I hope I am lucky enough to be asked to recommend her.
