Spent almost all day Saturday working on the street Christmas decoration. Painted the word ‘Peace’ more times than I want to remember, sponge painted, removed painter’s tape and stacked 34 decorations under the shade structure.
Had good intentions for getting something done around the house Saturday night, but wound up soaking in a hot tub, taking a nap and talking with my sister Sally. Got a few odds and ends done, but really not much.
Went to OSH (Orchard Supply Hardware–a mini Home Depot) this morning and got 4 outdoor timers for my Christmas lights, a new outdoor extension cord, some new lights, and a few other odds and ends. At least I’ll be able to have the lights go on and off while I’m in Seattle.
Since the temps got up to over 90 degrees today, I had to water the front yard and got most of the backyard watered. Still have to water the front flowerbed and plants on the porch, but just didn’t have time today. Talked a bit with Kelly, getting an update on their Thanksgiving plans.
The afternoon was spent touching up paint on the decorations and then painting on polyurethane and sprinkling on glitter. All that’s left to do is to attach the lights, tinsel garland and the legs. We’re taking a break and will have a final work day on 12/2. I’ll be soooo glad when this is over. This weekend we had about 10 people total, averaging about 7 per day, with only 3 new people showing up. I’ve been to every single work event for the entire time. After 12/2, never again.
Got a few things done around the house tonight, but am looking forward to my day off on Wednesday when I plan to do a heavy duty cleaning prior to Thanksgiving. Got most everything I need for the big meal, so at least don’t have to do any shopping this week.
Am looking forward to sleeping tonight and getting through the next two days at work. And then four days off….yay!!
