The day began sleeping in until about 8:30 am. After a restful morning with coffee and the newspaper, Patrick and Veronica picked me up and took me to lunch at Robin’s. Robin’s is a small restaurant nearby that isn’t fancy, but has really good food. We sat outside on the patio and enjoyed a pleasant lunch. Then we picked up the dogs and took them to our neighborhood dog park where they ran around like crazy. I can’t believe Murphy is 14 years old–he acts like he’s still a kid!
Patrick and Veronica hung out at my house for a bit and then headed for home to take a nap. I decided that was a good idea, so napped in front of the tv for an hour or so.  Later in the afternoon I realized I still needed to clean up all the trimmings in the backyard and started in. Got part of it finished when Kevin called for his Happy Mother’s Day phone call. Spent awhile talking with him and had a very nice phone visit. Still had enough daylight remaining to finish cleaning up all the trimmings. Need to sweep up a lot of the small stuff, but filled up the yard waste can with all the trimmings…and still had enough time to trim the roses.
Didn’t finish all the outdoor work I had hoped to do, but that’s ok. I had a great Mother’s Day instead of getting all hot and sweaty. Much better.
PS - Thanks to my *daughter* Vanessa for the beautiful flowers I received at work on Friday! I’m looking forward to enjoying all those beautiful blooms when I arrive tomorrow.
