Well I’m not as far along as my initial estimate, which is typically how it goes.  Got all the walls and trim primed and am pooped!  I had hoped to have gotten started on the wall paint, but the excessive heat slowed me down a bit.  It’s going to be even hotter tomorrow so I’m hoping to get started earlier than I did today.  It was nice to sleep in, though.

The worst part is over at least.  I hate all the prep work of patching and priming.  While the room looks better than it did at the start, everything being white just isn’t all that exciting.  I can’t wait to get some color on the walls tomorrow.

Had to spend a good bit of time outside this morning and this evening watering all my plants.  Looks like this will happen daily due to these unbelievably hot temps.  I think it got up into the high 90’s today and may reach over 100 tomorrow, Wednesday and Thursday!  I’m keeping the entire front of the house closed up from mid-afternoon till the sun goes down.  I pull all the shades and drapes so that no sunlight comes in.  It does stay a bit cooler, but still have to run the a/c in the bedroom and the new office plus have fans going in the rest of the house.  My electricity and water bills are going to be astronomical next month!

Murphy is very happy that I’m home this week.  He camps out all day in the family room in front of the fan and then spends the evening out back on the concrete next to the pool.

Got a UPS delivery this afternoon from Fenton–my new lamp!  I unpacked it enough to be sure it arrived intact, and then packed it back up.  It’s beautiful, but I’ll wait till I’m finished with all the painting and moving stuff around before I get it out.  It must have been blazing hot in that UPS van ’cause the glass globes of the lamp were warm when I opened the box!
