The hills just above and to the west of us caught on fire today.  Thankfully the firefighters were able to keep things under control and it seems to be out as of now.  I was worried due to the fact that the wind picked up this afternoon which could have really been a problem.  Just what I didn’t want to have to deal with after this past week as well as the week ahead with Brian and Stacy here.

Weird weather also hit this afternoon when the remnants of Hurricane Dean came through and we got a bit of rain.  First drops I’ve seen in months!  Hope it moves out of the way of northern Nevada and doesn’t wet down the burners too much.  Maybe they’ll be happy to get a little wet though since the temps are expected to be in the high 90’s all week.
