That’s what the small box said as it popped up on my email screen and began devouring all my saved messages! I noticed that about half my messages were gone when I opened my email and tried to find a message from a few days ago. Then, when I tried to move one of the messages that still remained, this box popped up and the messages just started disappearing!

I called Patrick and he told me to immediately turn off my computer. Then he came over and deleted a couple of spyware programs and installed something that would keep spyware off for good. He couldn’t find the virus program, but all the emails reappeared after he restarted the system. I just hope that no one was able to scan anything and retrieve any sensitive information. I’ll just have to keep checking to make sure no one has stolen anything where they can access any of my accounts.

Meanwhile, I sent emails to lots of people telling them to start using my gmail address. And, even though I thought I was being pretty careful, I won’t open any attachment unless I’m certain what it is. Somehow some asshole was able to gain access to my system and it scared me enough that I’ll no longer take any chances. I thought I was safe since I had McAfee installed, but I guess these jerks are able to figure ways to bypass whatever security system you have.

I still don’t understand why anyone does this sort of thing. Why spend all that time doing something that is so harmful? It will never make sense to me.
