I was so not ready to get up this morning for a 7 am meeting at work. When that alarm went off at 5:15, I came very close to just hitting the button, turning over and going back to sleep. I tried to go to sleep early last night, but it just didn’t happen. I don’t do well with these random early morning meetings and then trying to function normally throughout the day. I had hoped to leave work early, but an additional 3 meetings (after the one at 7) made it impossible to do that. After a stop at the drugstore on the way home, I finally stumbled in the door at 6 pm. Murphy had been out for almost 13 hours and was very ready to come in. I know he’ll be as ready as I am for this weekend to be here.
I got some decorating done this week, but it’s just too hard to try to do much in the evenings. I work so much better during the daylight hours. So I’ll finish everything up on the inside this weekend. It’s supposed to rain here on Saturday (yay!), so it will be a good time to stay home and get the decorating finished. I thought about getting up early on Saturday to do some shopping, but I think sleeping in would be better. We’ll see how I feel come Saturday.
The reruns have started for about half the primetime tv shows due to the writers’ strike. There have been some Christmas specials to fill the void, but mostly what I’m watching is the Lakers or HGTV. And even that is getting old. I’ll probably just start playing Christmas music this weekend and won’t watch tv at all…except for some football on Saturday.
I’m really hoping that USC wins the Pac-10 and that the Rose Bowl pits USC against Ohio State. That would be a great game and one of the first Rose Bowl games in a long time that would be worth watching. We’ll see. We have to wait to see what happens with this stupid BCS system. Wouldn’t it be great if people cared more about the Rose Bowl game than the BCS championship!
ER is almost over and I can barely keep my eyes open. So it’s off to bed. I think I’ll sleep quite well tonight.
