I can’t believe that Christmas is almost here! I finished up most of my shopping tonight with only a couple of small gifts to go. I’m taking off work early on Friday and will stop on my way home to finish up. Almost everything that I ordered online has already been shipped so it appears there will be gifts to be opened by all on Christmas Day. I am so glad to have this shopping part over. I stress out over the shopping more than any other part of Christmas.
Had to stop at Target yesterday to buy a gift for myself–a new vacuum cleaner. I began vacuuming the carpet in the family room on Sunday afternoon when the vacuum quit moving. Then I noticed smoke pouring out of the back. Uh….time to turn it off. The vacuum is over 10 years old so I guess it was time to put it to rest. Fortunately, Target had a deal on a Hoover Wind Tunnel Cyclonic (the bagless kind) and I was lucky enough to get the last one. It was pouring down rain last night so I didn’t even try to bring it in from the car. I’ll bring it in tonight and hope it doesn’t take too much effort to put it together. I can’t wait to see how much cleaner the floors will soon be. My house will be sparkling for Christmas!
I haven’t started baking yet but have plenty of time this weekend since most everything else will be done. I’ll be spending part of Friday and Saturday cleaning, but don’t really have that much to do since I did a lot of that as I was decorating.
And then I’m off work until January 2nd!!! Not sure what I’m going to do all that time. May just veg out. Or I may do some painting. Still have to paint the closet doors in my bedroom and office so this may be a good time to work on that. I’ll be bringing home some work so that I’m not totally overwhelmed when I go back to work on the 2nd. But it will be nice to be able to work in my nightgown and robe, knowing I don’t have to go out anywhere all day.
Well, gotta wrap a few things to take to work tomorrow.
