Tonight I found that Nate had chewed the wire to my small calculator in half. I discovered this when I caught him chewing on the wire to the base unit for my cordless phone!

I don’t know what it is about wires that is so damn fascinating to these cats–and especially it seems to Nate. This is the second item destroyed by chewed up wires, the first being the sensor bar for my Wii. I have so many wires connecting my computer, printer, scanner, phones, internet hookup, TV, TiVo, Wii, etc, etc, etc. And then there are all the other peripherals (like the calculator) that you don’t even think about until it doesn’t work and you find the chewed up wiring.

I just don’t know what to do to keep these two from continuing their chewing. I don’t remember this ever happening with any of my other cats. Maybe that’s because we didn’t have nearly as many wires when they were kittens. Or maybe they weren’t into chewing.
