It is 5:20 a.m. and I am wide awake as I watch sun rise over the backlot of Huntington Memorial Hospital. Patrick hauled me off to the ER yesterday morning when there just seemed to be no other alternative. Turns out I was dehydrated and was beginning to lose some kidney functions, in addition to having some type of bowel blockage!
So I was admitted and finally made it into my room at about 6:00 pm–just in time to see the Lakers beat the Phoenix Suns and win the Western Division Finals!
Now I get to hang out and hope the treatment plan is not something too yucky. Worst case scenario is surgery to restructure/unobstruct parts of my bowels. Meanwhile, I am far more comfortable (and far less worried) being here than what it was like at home over the past few days.
Happy Memorial Day weekend to all! Not exactly what I had originally planned for the holiday, but I must say that it certainly is memorable!

It is a great relief to know that you are getting help. Vomiting is no ones favorite activity but with abdominal stitches it must be a triple nightmare. Hospitals are not fun places but your blog did sound like someone who needed it, I hope all goes well now and that you will be feeling better, preferably without further operations.
