Nate has decided that killing lizards is his most favorite pastime these days. So far I have found three dead lizards in the house and just rescued the latest live one that he was carrying in his mouth as he ran inside. He doesn’t want to eat them, just play with them. I mean, how great for a cat to have a live toy that runs around as he chases after it! Unfortunately, they eventually die as he sinks his teeth and claws into their bodies.

Since Nate is not very big at this point, I don’t expect he’ll be catching rats anytime soon. Yet I’m sure that will happen eventually. I hope he puts on some weight before then since many of the rats I’ve seen over the years are about the same size as him which doesn’t give Nate much of a fighting chance. Let’s hope he sticks to lizards for a while. They’re also much easier to remove from the premises!
