Planned to spend the day working in the yard. Wound up spending most of the afternoon in the backyard with Vanessa and then Patrick and Veronica. It seemed like summer…and it helped that it was 80 degrees and a beautiful sunny day!
I did get most of my flowers and the last three rose bushes planted. Still have some Dusty Miller plants that I’m unsure where to plant, but I’m sure I’ll come up with a good spot. Think I’ll probably put them in the flower bed under the front window since I’m running out of space in the back yard. I picked up some plant markers at Target earlier this week and have labeled most of the roses with their actual names. Kind of nice to know what kinds I have.
Tomorrow I need to go to OSH to pick up a number of bags of mulch. They are doing seismic retrofitting repairs to our main water line coming down from Northern California and will be banning all outdoor watering beginning 3/18 for 10 days. So I’ll be mulching as much as possible and will water all my plants excessively on the 17th before they shut us down. It won’t be quite as warm tomorrow, but that’s actually better than the heat for getting yard work done.
I’m sooo ready for summer.
