My entire body aches. I spent the weekend spreading the above-mentioned mulch. I’ve mulched almost all the flowerbeds/rose beds completely. The only beds that weren’t mulched were those with succulents and other drought tolerant plants. And my yard is looking fabulous! I did the mulching in order to help the plants retain water while the City is doing work on our main water line from the north next week. However, it really has made everything look very finished. So I’m glad I did it. I still have about 100 lbs of mulch that I didn’t use and will use that along the side of the house when I put in a small vegetable garden next month.
Sophie got her sutures removed Saturday morning and I let her outside Saturday afternoon. She absolutely loved it! She has only wandered next door and behind the back fence into the neighbor’s yard. And she comes to the back of the house when called. She seems to be a lot like Nate and doesn’t seem to fear much. She tried to catch some bees (No, Sophie!) and attempted to climb the large palm tree! I’m sure she will figure out a way onto the roof eventually. Hopefully she’ll figure out how to get down as well!
It was a great weekend to work outdoors since Daylight Saving time started today! It was so nice to have daylight until after 7 pm tonight. And it will be great to come home from work this week and be able to spend time outside rather than inside in the dark! I’m sure the cats will be happy to be able to go out and roam around each evening, too! Perfect timing for Sophie to begin her outdoor escapades!
