I hate to complain about our weather, what with all the tornadoes and bad weather in other parts of the country, but I’m ready for some warmth! The pool is only about 60 degrees and I’m wondering if it will ever get warm enough for much swimming. I need it to be at least 15-20 degrees warmer before it’s warm enough for me. I’ve spent so much time getting the back yard ready and the weather is just not cooperating!

I stopped tonight at Bed Bath and Beyond to pick up some Yankee Candles that were on sale (had to get the Night Jasmine fragrance!) and got a few yard accessories thinking maybe that would spur on the summer weather! Got a great tablecloth for the patio table as well as 2 new solar lights. I now know why I don’t shop there very often–I get too tempted by all kinds of ‘stuff’. I was good and didn’t buy too many things that I really don’t need. I certainly could have gone crazy, though.

The cats are totally into going outside at night. While it’s not super warm, it’s warm enough for them to want to stay out for a couple of hours each evening. Once again last night they brought some of the outdoors in. They were all gathered around the end of my bed and I knew they had some sort of critter trapped under there. It was a huge grasshopper. Sophie had it in her mouth and growled every time Nate or Hayes got near her! The last time she caught a grasshopper she ate it and had diarrhea for 3 days. So I had to step in. I tricked her into getting too close to the edge of the bed and grabbed her neck…and then grabbed the grasshopper! He was thrown outside and Sophie was extremely frustrated for about 1/2 hour. Later I found a dead lizard in the middle of my bed. I think I’m going to have to start closing my bedroom door when I let the cats outside. I’m just not fond of critters crawling around my bedroom.
