I’ve spent most of the day today (Thursday) reorganizing the family room. Needed to move 4 bookcases in order to clear one of them away from a back window so the window installers can get in there. Really only needed to shift one bookcase, but it turned out to be easier to just shift all of them down the wall towards my computer area. That meant emptying each one of all the books in order to slide them. These are floor to ceiling bookcases, so that one hell of a lot of books! Did a really good cleaning of everything in the process–now just have to hope the window installers don’t negate all my cleaning efforts.
Grabbed Patrick and Nader for a few minutes and convinced them to move the desk to a new location, away from the back windows. Still have to figure out if I can move the subwoofer from my new stereo system to the other side of the room in order to rearrange the seating. I did manage to completely disconnect and reconnect my computer in order to put the tower under my work table, so the subwoofer should be a piece of cake after that!
I have black and blue marks on my thighs and my back and legs are killing me…so I decided I deserved a Vicodin. The back pain seems to be easing up, so I’m hopeful I’ll get a good night’s sleep. I only have one “real” vacation day left, so I’ll need to be rested up enough to get the family room finished tomorrow. Then need to get back to ripping out the rest of the carpet in my bedroom…
The Olympics continue to be great. Gymnastics and swimming are my favorites, but am watching some sports I’ve never really seen before like fencing and whitewater kayaking. I think diving begins tomorrow, so I’m looking forward to that.
Murphy is absolutely thrilled that I’ve been home all week ’cause that means he gets to be in the house almost all day! He camps out wherever I happen to be…even the cats are all getting used to him being inside!
The weather has turned lots cooler and the temps are expected to continue downward this weekend making it much, much easier to make headway on the *projects.*
Well, the pill is kicking in and it’s almost 1 am, so I’m headed off to bed…
