…and returns with a vengeance! Temps got up in the high 90’s today and should be the same tomorrow. The humidity is only 15-20%, however, so it’s not all that bad. And there’s always the pool. It’s not all that warm yet, but when the outside temps are in the 90’s, it really doesn’t matter.

Spent all last weekend working in the yard. It looks fabulous. Only real problem is keeping Murphy and the cats out of the flowerbeds. Bought some plants called “Dog-Gone” that are supposed to repel dogs. Murphy’s been sleeping on them. Have only lost 2-3 other plants so far…

Work has been brutal all week. Keep getting more and more “tasks” added on to all my regular duties and I just can’t keep up. While I’m looking forward to taking time off for vacation this summer, I’m dreading the work that will be waiting and the hole I’ll have to dig out of when I return.

Additionally, the meetings are becoming more and more intrusive on work time. I have two scheduled for next week and four the following week. I still have to get the same amount of work completed–and then some, with all the additional projects. Am trying to get a part-time assistant hired, but it’s taking far longer than I had hoped. I gave in and brought work home this weekend…but I have absolutely no desire to get started on it.

And then there’s home. So much to do, so little time. Maybe I’ll be motivated to work inside this weekend since it’s absolutely impossible to do anything outside during the day in the heat. Not really much to do outside anyhow. I could do a bit of weeding on the side of the house, but it’s certainly something that can wait a week or two. Would like to scrub down the plastic yard furniture tomorrow morning before it gets too hot.

Got my hair cut really short today. Much more comfortable in the summer and easier to take care of as well. I really only have to wash it and that’s it! It looks like the style worn by Jamie Lee Curtis.

Am going to take time out for fun tomorrow night and play poker with Patrick and a bunch of his friends. Haven’t played since last year, so am anxious to start up once more. Hopefully we can schedule a game at least once a month.

Well, time to relax for the evening. Hope there’s something decent on tv, but I’m not holding my breath. After all, it’s summertime.
