The tests came back and Soula does not have gestational diabetes!  I was relatively certain this would be the case since her at home testing continued to be too low to indicate she might have a problem.  What good news!

I spent all day today painting the walls in the new office room.  All that needs to be done now is painting the trim and the room is finished, and I expect I’ll have that done by the end of the week.  Just need to clean the floors and then will start moving furniture.  I can’t wait to be at that point!

I took down the door to that room since I don’t really have a need for a door closing off the room.  Plus, the center panel in the door was kicked out by Kevin many years ago during a fit of rage.  I don’t know why he had to take his anger out on the doors.  Still have two other doors (Patrick’s old bedroom and the linen closet) that need replacing/fixing for the same reason.  The door I took down and a large panel that was closing off the doorway between the family room and the office are currently sitting in the hallway.  I guess I’ll put them outside at the side of the house until I figure a way to get rid of them.

It appears I am doing absolutely nothing for the 4th of July…and that’s ok with me.  The house is a mess what with all the painting and moving things out of that room, so I can’t even imagine having anyone come over to this mess.  Additionally, it’s too damn hot in the house (except in the bedroom with the a/c running) and it’s too damn hot outside unless you’re in the pool or until the sun has gone down.  So I’ll watch fireworks on tv tomorrow night and just relax.  Holidays on Wednesdays just aren’t all that great.
