A big chunk of the backlot at Universal Studios burned today including the Courthouse Square area where lots and lots of movies have been filmed. The one that most everyone remembers is Back to the Future. Fortunately the Clocktower from that movie was not totally destroyed. Universal Studios is one of my favorite spots and I remember most every inch of the backlot, having done the tour too many times to count. Mike and I started going to Universal before there were any rides, when it was really just a studio tour. A sad day indeed to see those memories go up in flames…
