The latest rain installment hit this afternoon and is currently coming down by the bucketloads. We’ve already surpassed the number two spot for the most rain in a season here and are rapidly bearing down on number one! Might as well shoot for the record at this point. Now the question is: how far over the record will we go? Will we hit 40 inches? Since we’ve got another big one forecast for Thursday (plus who knows what will happen over the next few months), the record we set this year may be one that will never be beaten…and I hope I never see another year like this!
Good news is that we are supposed to have a dry weekend for Easter! I hope the forecast holds up since I’m still planning to do a massive garage clean out. Additionally, I got about half the bushes trimmed off the back fence and would love to get that finished as well.
Yesterday was a day of miracles come true. I called Huntington Hospital about 3 weeks ago regarding Patrick’s $13,000 (aagghh!!!) bill from his kidney stone escapade. I asked for a reduction in the bill, a payment plan, whatever they could do to help us out since we could not handle a $13,000 bill. They called yesterday morning to let me know they were going to reduce the bill to (gulp) $3,600! And, they will set up a payment plan to pay it off over a one year period with no interest. I was almost in tears on the phone!
I am still shocked that they were able to cut this bill down so much. I am extremely thankful to the friends (Karen and Sherry) who recommended I call and ask for this. I just didn’t have a clue that this was possible. Had I not called, Patrick would have been saddled with this HUGE debt for many, many years. Amazing that they bill you for this massive amount and then sort of say “Oh, just kidding, here’s the actual bill” and reduce it dramatically. Guess they figure if you don’t ask, they’ll let you borrow from your home equity and line their coffers with your money. Thank God I asked!!!

You’re right…it slipped my mind (not unusual these days!) that you also told me to call the hospital. So thank you, too!
