I have tickets! Antiques Roadshow will be in LA on 8/13 and I’ve received 2 tickets to attend. I applied online back in January and then forgot all about it, what with the wedding and all. Today I received an email from them telling me I would receive 2 tickets that would be mailed out […]

What a wonderful and fabulous day it was! Soula looked gorgeous and Kevin looked dashing–as upcoming pictures will show. Both were the happiest I have ever seen, full of love for one another. Things went smoothly on the big day, with everything going according to schedule. The ceremony was extremely moving, and I spent most […]

As the wedding day approaches, many thoughts and feelings are rushing about in my head. Thoughts of days gone by along with immediate plans of what to pack along with last minute errands to be completed… That cute little boy who endeared himself to all (at least until he got old enough to turn into […]

I can’t believe it’s that close. Two weeks from today we’ll be in Vegas ready to party for the weekend and prepare for Kevin and Soula’s wedding on Monday, the 23rd. Will probably go out this weekend to get shoes and a purse, and then I’ll be ready. Made arrangements for a friend to come […]

Started off last Sunday with a trip to the mall to get Patrick measured for his tux for Kevin’s wedding. Then we headed to the T-Mobile store to get my first cellphone! Technically, it isn’t really my first one as Patrick gave me one that he had purchased as part of his plan many years […]

When I heard glassware moving in the living room tonight, I thought it was just the cats chasing one another. Nonetheless, I decided to check it out to be sure nothing was going to be broken. Loki was standing by the shelves next to the fireplace where I keep my orange carnival glass. He was […]

That’s right, only two days remaining until the most dreaded day of the year is beyond us…April 15th! For me, this day can’t come too soon. The period from Jan 1st thru April 15th is absolutely the worst beginning with the preparation of W-2 forms and 1099’s, closing out the year for work as well […]

Spent a good chunk of both Saturday and Sunday in the garage cleaning. You can now walk into the garage without going through a maze of boxes, bags and plastic containers. There’s still a good bit of stuff to be sorted and either put away or thrown away, but I’m out of space in the […]

Just when I thought I could get started on cleaning out that damn garage, something else gets in the way. Last night I noticed water dripping under the kitchen sink. Sure enough, there was a leak in the drainage pipe. After doing a number of quick fixes in the past–plus the work that Patrick and […]

Easter Sunday turned out very nice. Got a Honeybaked Ham and cooked all the usual goodies–green bean casserole, sweet potatoes, coleslaw, fruit salad, deviled eggs and rolls–with blueberry pie for dessert. Wound up with Patrick and 6 of his friends here to share dinner with us which was very nice and homey feeling. The night […]

The latest rain installment hit this afternoon and is currently coming down by the bucketloads. We’ve already surpassed the number two spot for the most rain in a season here and are rapidly bearing down on number one! Might as well shoot for the record at this point. Now the question is: how far over […]

I’ve had it. I’m sick, sick, sick of all this damn rain! I can’t get motivated to do anything, inside or outside. It seemed to have stopped this morning so I thought I could get started trimming bushes outside. I got my trimming tools, gloves, etc. and went out back…and then it started again! I […]

Alleviated a lot of stress yesterday when I made the decision NOT to invite all the wedding guests to the rehearsal brunch. The hotel where I had planned to have it wanted $30 per person plus tip plus $125 for 3 chefs to man the various counters. That would have come to over $2500!!! So […]

Today is the first day of March. How can that be? Seems it wasn’t that long ago that I got all the Christmas stuff put away. Oh wait. Maybe it really wasn’t that long ago… I’m grateful that Jan and Feb are over though, as they are my two least favorite months of the year. […]

I got hit today with spam for online strip poker. What is that?! I need to get Patrick to update my website today so that I don’t have to deal with these assholes! Easy enough to delete the comments, but I’d like to have something in place so that they get some kind of a […]

So it started out as a normal Monday night–except that I had to work until 5:30-6:00 pm. I had planned to go to the grocery on my way home, but decided to stop for fast food instead. Since I only had about $8, I opted for Tommy’s. For those who don’t know, Tommy’s are just […]

So it sounded more like the way Dubya wants things to be rather than reality. I’ve been around for awhile and have heard lots of State of the Union speeches and seem to recall they used to be just that–the state of our country. Not what someone wants it to be. How did this happen? […]

Warning–this is kinda gross!! Was awakened last night/early this morning at about 12:30 am with Puto puking on the floor in my bedroom. I got up and cleaned it up so that I wouldn’t step in it upon getting up. Seems he did more puking later in the main bathroom as well as taking a […]

I’m pooped…and so have done very little here at home tonight. I did help Chris Loop by digging out lots of tunes for his wedding on Saturday. That 60’s music really works well for wedding receptions…he even wanted some Barry Manilow! This should be a fun wedding with lots of dancing. I need to be […]

Should really be working on accounting client stuff right now, but just can’t seem to get into it. Gotta do it eventually, but will try to put it off for just a bit longer. Yesterday got a delivery of 2 sets of new sheets from JC Penney’s. Now this probably doesn’t seem all that exciting […]
